Urine NTX Collection

PRC-PALM-SPC-5.51-pro3-frm3: INSTRUCTIONS FOR COLLECTION FOR NTX

1. On the day of your test, get up at your usual time.
2. Empty your bladder as usual. 
3. Do not save this urine.  NOTE: Getting up during the middle of the night does not count as your first morning urine.
4. DO NOT EAT! 
5. After you have urinated for the first time, please drink at least two (2) glasses of water.  This will help you pass the second urine.
6. Collect the second morning’s urine before 10:00 a.m. in the container provided.   
7. Bring it to Henry Ford Laboratory.  Keep it cold until you deliver it to the lab.
   If there are any other lab tests to be drawn, be sure to wait before leaving the laboratory.
8. Please collect the specimen at least two weeks prior to your appointment with the doctor.  This should be done preferably Monday thru Thursday.

 

NOTE: Remember to bring a written laboratory order with your specimen in order to properly process your tests
